Worked examples

Frequently asked questions
Does this calculate a double-thickness wall?
No. It estimates one visible brick face; multiple wythes or unusual bonds require a project-specific takeoff.
Why are mortar joints added to brick dimensions?
Each installed brick occupies a repeating module made of the brick face plus the horizontal and vertical joint.
Limits and interpretation
- The estimate treats the wall as a single rectangular face and does not design bond pattern, corners, returns, wall thickness, lintels, reinforcement, or structural capacity.
- Actual yield depends on brick tolerances, cuts, breakage, joint profile, workmanship, packaging quantities, and site-specific drawings and codes.
