About this calculator

This working days calculator counts business days between two dates, excluding weekends, for deadlines and payroll.

Formula notes

total days minus Saturdays and Sundays in the span; holidays are not excluded unless tracked separately.

Worked examples

  1. Example: a 31-day month starting on a Monday contains 23 weekdays and 8 weekend days.
  2. Between Monday 2026-07-06 and Friday 2026-07-17 there are 10 weekdays when both endpoints are included; listing one weekday holiday reduces the count to 9.

How to use it

  1. Enter the start and end dates.
  2. Read calendar days, weekdays, and weekend days.
  3. Subtract public holidays manually if your region requires.

Frequently asked questions

Are public holidays excluded automatically?

No. Holiday calendars vary by region, so subtract them manually.

Does it count the end date?

The span counts whole days between dates; enable include-end-date if you bill both endpoints.

Limits and interpretation

  • The calculator uses a Monday-to-Friday week and only excludes holidays explicitly entered by the user.
  • Regional weekends, observed-holiday substitutions, half-days, company calendars, and time zones require separate handling.
